Tropical Felgate
Vacation Rentals in Playas del Coco, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
Costa
Rica is a Central American success story: since the late 19th
century, only two brief periods of violence have marred its
democratic development. Although still a largely agricultural
country, it has expanded its economy to include strong
technology and tourism sectors. The standard of living is
relatively high. Land ownership is widespread.
Costa Rica is the
second smallest country in Central America after El Salvador.
The country lies between Nicaragua and Panama, and has
coastlines on the Caribbean and the Pacific. A low, thin line of
hills between Lake Nicaragua and the Pacific is prolonged into
northern Costa Rica, broadening and rising into high and rugged
mountains in the centre and south. The capital city, San Jose,
lies in a central basin set in these highlands.
Costa Rica's
basically stable economy depends on tourism, agriculture, and
electronics exports. Poverty has been substantially reduced over
the past 15 years, and a strong social safety net has been put
into place. Foreign investors remain attracted by the country's
political stability and high education levels, and tourism
continues to bring in foreign exchange.
Costa Rica offer travellers access to an
amazing variety of flora and fauna - cool mountain valleys and
volcanoes draped with lush forests and topped by desolate craters.
Churning rivers are popular white-water rafting routes, while mellow
jungle waterways provide ample opportunities for animal watching. The
Guanacaste region, Tamarindo and Playas del Coco are lined with Pacific
beaches. Lake Arenal sits among tropical gardens in the shadow of a
volcano. Esparza, Quepos and Manuel Antonio sit on mountain ridges
overlooking the Pacific near Manuel National Park.
A small country
packed with more beauty than almost any on earth. Tropical rainforests
and beautiful beaches, active volcanoes, windswept mountaintops, cloud
forests and a high density of wildlife make Costa Rica an exciting,
wild, adventurous and exotic destination.
Costa Rica is also
the most stable country in Latin America and its stunning scenery is an
ever-changing collage.
On its western
border, the mighty Pacific crashes against rocky outcrops in sharp
contrast to its eastern coast, where tranquil Caribbean beaches will
soothe your nerves.
Mountains run through
the heart of the country and extend almost continuously from the
northwest to the southeast corners. From coast to coast, Costa Rica is
dotted with numerous wildlife reserves, lakes, rivers and dramatic
natural scenery.
For a country that is slightly
smaller than the state of West Virginia, Costa Rica is blessed with more
natural beauty than almost any country on earth.
Wherever you visit in Costa
Rica, you are guaranteed an unforgettable experience.
